What follows is a list of the major search databases on the web and the address you need to go to (as of this writing) to submit your website information. If you do nothing else other than getting listed with these databases, you’ll be ahead of the game. To save space, the "http://" has been omitted from the start of all URLs. TWO FINAL TIPS FOR PROMOTING YOUR WEBSITE

Think about certain keywords that people might use when searching for subject areas that include your site. For example, if you have the Musical Instruments Buy & Sell Website, keywords might include "musical", "instruments", "buy", "sell", "advertising", "ads", "classified", "information", "sales", etc. Use these keywords in the description of your website, so that it will pop up in the most possible search results lists.

There are services available on the web that will list your website information with multiple search databases, so you don’t have to do it individually yourself. Some services are free, some charge a fee, and some will do multiple types of services. The two best known services are Submit-It (http://www.submit-it.com/) and Postmaster (http://www.netcreations.com/postmaster/).
